Hot Cueing
As if looping wasn't enough to make you happier than a pig in dookie, a further function has been added to the CDJ1000 MK2. Where as looping is track specific, hot cueing is CD/disc specific.
So What On Earth Does It Do?
Ever used a turntable and wanted to find a sample bang in the middle of the record? You have to fiddle about putting the needle on the record somewhere close then winding it on manually until you finally get where you want and the correct sample or point on the record under the stylus. Not on this CDJ little matey.
Hot Cueing allows you mark a specific part of a tune. It can be accessed and the CDJ will just to it each time you press the corresponding lettered button, A, B or C. All these functions are found at the top left of the CDJ. It only possible to put three hot cues per CD. You only have three lettered buttons after all to play with!
Setting Up a Hot Cue
OK. Very tricky this bit. Actually I'm lying a lot. Its dead easy......
Step 1
Step 2
Press REC MODE to activate Hot Cueing. You will notice the letters A, B, and C start flashing red.
Step 3
Step 4
Step 5
Just a little bit of extra information. Hot cueing does not have to be preplanned. As with looping it can be done just as easily on the fly.
